You can make the presenter’s job a lot easier by adding links. They help you by creating clickable areas in the presentation that lead to another slide or another element.

There are various ways to add links in Shaman. You can link slides, external websites, or other presentations.

Link to another slide

Presentation → Edit presentation → Add → Link

If you want to add a link pointing to another slide in the same presentation, you need to open the slide where you want to add the link. Then go to “Add” and select “Link”.

1. Draw a clickable area around a text or an image

Click somewhere on the slide (keep your left button pressed down) and draw the clickable area over the text or image. Let go of the mouse button.

2. Set up the destination slide

Move your cursor into the link area and press the “Edit” (pencil) icon in the left upper corner. Now you can select the destination of the link, which will be another slide in the same presentation.

Not yet satisfied?
Copy or delete the link area, change the destination by using the icons in the left upper corner, or resize the shape by clicking and dragging the border of the area.

Keep in mind
You can draw as many areas on one slide as you like, but make sure they don’t touch each other!

External web link

Presentation → Edit presentation → Add → Web link

Adding an external web link works similarly to adding a simple link. If you have the right slide open, click on “Add” and select “Web link”.

1. Draw a clickable area around a text or an image

Click somewhere on the slide (keep your left button pressed down) and draw the clickable area over the text or image. Let go of the mouse button.

2. Add the URL of the website

Move your cursor into the link area and press the “Edit” (pencil) icon in the left upper corner. Now a smaller window will pop up where you can enter the URL of a website. Click “Done” when finished.

To test whether your link works properly or not, go to the Preview section. You can always go back to the slide to change the URL.

Link to another presentation

Presentation → Edit presentation → Add → Presentation link

It is also possible to create a link from a presentation to a different one. This link just like the other ones has the be first added to a slide.

Open the slide from where you want to navigate to a different presentation. Go to “Add” and select “Presentation link”.

1. Draw a clickable area around a text or an image

Click somewhere on the slide (keep your left button pressed down) and draw the clickable area over the text or image. Let go of the mouse button.

2. Add the linked presentation

Move your cursor into the link area and press the “Edit” (pencil) icon in the left upper corner. Now you can select the presentation by clicking in the middle of the thumbnail, then select one slide within as the destination.

You can check how the link works if you go to the Preview section.

Information links

Presentation → Edit presentation → Add → Information link

Information links are links that have a data value assigned to them. When the link is clicked, the data is automatically saved and stored. Later this will be synced with the Cloud and made visible in the statistics. You can also sync this data with your CRM system, to make your own statistics.

However, this feature is available only if you have an activated license for the Meeting Snapshot.
