The html email editor offers 3 menu's on the right side of the screen. This article is about the Blocks.

The layout of an email is supported by the html block structure. Simply put, HTML emails are a combination of rows and columns. Use it to design and structure your email message. Learn more about anatomy of an email.

To add a block, simply drag and drop a new block on your canvas from the menu. The menu shows blocks with different number of columns.

When you select the block in the canvas area (click outside the content area) the block options will appear.

Main things to note:

  • You can always change the columns later

  • Per column you can set background color, padding (space between outside area and content area) and border

  • If you have multiple columns and want same background color, use content background color in Row properties

  • You can set a background image, however this html code doesn't work for all outlook clients

You can also set width of column manually by moving the line between columns

See a video of how to build a structure with blocks:

Inside these blocks you can then add content like:

  • Text block

  • Image

  • Button

  • Divider

  • Placeholder for email fragments

The usual structure for a marketing email template includes:

  • Greetings

  • Headline

  • Content (body)

  • Call to action

  • Closing
