What is a Veeva survey interaction element, and how does it work?
Veeva Survey interaction elements in Shaman allow you to attach a Veeva survey within a slide of a CLM presentation, allowing reps to access the survey content and capture valuable field insights during a sales call, all without leaving the CLM presentation.
First, the Veeva survey needs to be created in Veeva CRM - you may need the help of your CRM team to do this. Then, it´s just a case of adding the Veeva survey interaction element placeholder in Shaman on the slide where you want the survey to show, and linking the survey to the presentation (in Shaman) either by Veeva ID, or adding the survey to the CLM presentation in Veeva Vault.
Once the the slide is opened during presentation, the Survey overlay will open. If an account is already selected, the questions will display. If not, an account must be selected first in order to save responses.

How to add a Veeva survey interaction element to a presentation
Important note before we begin: please make sure that the survey has already been created in Veeva CRM, and you have the Veeva ID of the Veeva survey ready to add to the Survey interaction element in Shaman, or that it exists in Vault as well so that it can be attached.
Navigate to the slide within the presentation where you want to add the Veeva survey interaction element.
Click the “Add interaction” option in the top left hand corner of the screen, then scroll down until you see “Add interaction element”, and click here.
You will then be redirected to the interaction elements page, where you can select “Veeva Survey” by clicking on it.
You will notice that a Veeva Survey placeholder has been added to the slide.
Good to know!
The Survey placeholder in Shaman will not contain the questions you have created in Veeva Vault. Once you have linked the Survey to the placeholder, and synced the presentation to Veeva Vault, you can then stage the presentation and send it to your CRM sandbox for testing. In Veeva CRM, the Survey placeholder will be replaced with the Survey you have created in Veeva Vault.
You can resize this placeholder by clicking on the edges of the placeholder and dragging them to a smaller or different size. You can also move the placeholder anywhere on the slide by clicking anywhere within the placeholder and dragging it to its new position on the slide. The size or position of the placeholder does not matter, the survey will always open as a pop-up over the slide and can be closed in order to view the slide.
To configure the Survey element, you can click the gold settings icon in the top right hand corner to open a drawer on the right side of your screen.
In the “Settings” tab, you will see the following options:
General:
Primary color: You can set the primary color for your survey based on your brand colors. Simply click the color swatch icon to reveal options to choose color based on picklist, presaved colors or Hex code.
Background color: You can also set the background color for your survey. We recommend sticking to a pale/light color so the text in the survey can be easily read by your end users. Simply click the color swatch icon to reveal options to choose color based on picklist, presaved colors or Hex code.
Survey:
Type: Choose between attaching the survey to the CLM presentation in Vault or entering the Veeva ID of the survey directly in Shaman.
ID (Survey ID) - You will need to input the Veeva ID of the survey in this field.
Linked to CLM - If you choose this option, you will need to manually attach the survey to the presentation in Veeva Vault.

Text (Free text input of up to 250 characters)

Description (There is no answer options, this can be used to share information with the HCP taking the survey)
When writing your questions, keep in mind that the maximum character count is 1000.
We advise against marking the questions as required in Veeva CRM.
The questions will appear in the same order in Shaman as they do in your CRM.
Good to know: We do not support branching at the moment
When presenting content which contains a Veeva Survey:
The end user navigates to the slide that contains the Survey interaction element. A modal (~80% of slide size) pops up with a greyed out background.
If no HCP is selected, the end user will see a message to select a HCP.
If a HCP is selected OR the user selects HCP then clicks reload, they will see the first question in the survey.
Based on the number of questions we show a progress bar on top (current question/total questions).
The end user can click the cross icon to dismiss the Veeva Survey modal/ embedded html. To reopen it, the end user should navigate away from the slide with the survey, then return to it.
The end user can skip questions if it's not required. If the question is required, an answer must be entered before being able to continue with the survey.
Each time a question is answered, the survey feedback is saved, since the end user can close the survey at any point using the cross icon.
Once the survey is completed and the last question is saved, the modal closes and the rep can continue with the presentation.
