What is a design template?
The idea of a design template in Shaman is to save you some time as well as maintain compliance and consistency across your email content whilst facilitating the sharing of content across Products/brands or even work areas and franchises. As the name suggests, a design template is a template which you can use as a base and then add more specific text, images, or links inline with your objective.
A design template can be a block, email template, or email fragment.
Good to know!
You can not make a design template for a template fragment.
The design template only exists in Shaman (as in, there will be no trace of the design template in your Veeva Vault.)
You need special permission to have access to create and edit the master design templates in your account. This is to help conserve the accuracy and consistency of your design templates. If you have any questions or doubts about the design templates available to you, please contact us at support@getshaman.com

Creating a new email fragment using a design template
Let´s start with how to create a new email fragment using a design template.
Once you have logged in to Shaman and clicked the email icon from the menu on the left for the email editor, you will see different tabs for email templates, email fragments, and template fragments. (If you have permission to access the master design templates, you will also see a tab for design templates). Select the tab email fragment.
Click the New button (as per the screenshot) to get started. A window will appear to add the name, Product, and Language for your new email fragment. Name is a free text field, but Product and Language are selected from the dropdown menu. If you don´t see a Product or Language you are looking for, contact us at support@getshaman.com.
Once you have completed the information, click Create.
You will then be directed to a page that is known as the email details page. Here, you add all of the necessary information to successfully sync your content to Veeva or OnCore Vault. Check out this article to learn more about how to complete these fields.

In the menu on the left hand side, you will see the section headings of the information that should be completed before syncing to Veeva Vault.
Once you have completed the Veeva information, click the "MagicCopy" tab to proceed to the next step in the email content creation process in Shaman.
From here, you can choose to use MagicCopy (an AI copywriting assistant seamlessly integrated into the Shaman email editor) to generate text for your email template or fragment. Check out this article to learn more.
You can skip the MagicCopy step simply by clicking the "Design" tab to go straight to the HTML editor to start creating your email template or fragment.
Before being directed to the email editor, your Design template gallery will appear. Here you will be able to see all available design templates for email fragments (relating to the Product/brand you are working with, and which work area or franchise if applicable).
Simply click on the design template you wish to use to select it.
Once you have selected the design template you wish to use, you will be directed to the email editor. A copy of the design template will have generated in the email editor, ready for you to edit as you wish.
